At Winterfell, despite Sansa's objection, Jon accepts the loyalties of Houses Umber and Karstark, whose previous leaders fought alongside Ramsay against Jon's forces. Queen Cersei demands that the North bend the knee. At the Citadel, Samwell "borrows" restricted library books, discovering a large deposit of dragonglass in Dragonstone; he sends word to Jon.
